Are you looking for a good reason to go to Pompeii? Here you are! Not only for joining our 3d virtual reality tours to discover Pompeii as it was before the eruption of Mont Vesuvius, but also to see a beautiful exhibition about one of the most famous rock bands: Pink Floyd, organized in the old Amphitheatre in the ruins of Pompeii.
A first-ever preview of photos and videos about the 1971 concert Live at Pompeii. Pictures - never seen before- of the Live at Pompeii concert will be on shown in the underground passages of the Roman Amphitheatre, which recently hosted the closed-door concert of the English band. The exhibition will be open to the public from the 18th of July onwards until the end of September. It is organized by the director of the legendary video-concert, Adrian Maben, showing for the very first time frames and pictures about those four days (from the 4th to the 7th) of October 1971. The exposition includes also footage, collecting deleted scenes and the so called “Chit Chat with Oyster”, i.e. free conversations between the members of the band. Music by Pink Floyd in background goes along with visitors, through the underground passages of this unique and evocative setting. This is a unique show and, in our opinion, it’s worth seeing a fantastic exhibition like that in a suggestive location like the oldest Roman Amphitheatre. And, to allow everyone an easier access to the city, that in the summertime has a full program of events, there will be more trains for visiting the archaeological site, in the night too. In fact, in order to give tourists (and not just) a better access to the area of the Ancient Pompeii, in particular in occasion of the visits organized at night, there will be an enhancement of Campania Express train. Connecting Naples to Sorrento, in less than 50 minutes, the train stops at the archaeological site of Herculaneum and Pompeii (Villa dei Misteri station). Therefore, special night trains will allow tourists to move easily in occasion of night visits in Pompeii and Herculaneum and night concerts in Pompeii. Moreover, in order to make moving easier for tourists, there will be connections with Freccia Rossa trains to and from Rome until the 15th October 2016, in light of the increasing tourist flows to the area. There will be eight departures every day, including public holidays, on the Naples-Sorrento route and, in addition, four halfway trains on the Sorrento-Pompeii. The single-fare ticket offers the possibility of doing the return trip in a different day from the one of the departure or stopping in the halfway stations and taking the next Campania Express train. The tickets are available on line, in Eav ticket offices and affiliated travel agencies. So, what are you waiting for? There are all the ingredients to have a beautiful experience visiting Pompeii.
